Obtaining Your HostID or Registration Number

Prior to submitting a request for a new license, you need to obtain the hostID or registration number from your current license.


You need the hostID for your current software license OR from your product registration number. Both of these ID’s can be found within your current product license file.


Locate and open your current license file. The default license file location for the DownStream products is:


C:DownStreamTechLicenseManagerlicense.dat


The hostID is a 10 or 12 character string located in the first or second line of the license file. Examples of the license file are shown below with the hostID highlighted in bold.

The Registration number is located at the end of the license file:
Registration Number: 23456
