BluePrint allows users to fill shapes and to order the display of those filled shapes when they overlap. For instance, you can place a filled shape on or under a PCB View to highlight certain areas of the board.
MS Window’s Fill Color Tool can be located on the Formatting Toolbar in BluePrint. This tool works with simple filled polygons like circles, rectangles and triangles found in BluePrint’s Common Tools Palette. With this Fill Color tool, the shape and fill work as one element. You can select the shape and the fill will move, copy, etc… with the shape. However, the MS Window’s Fill Color Tool does not work with more complex closed polygons you may create using BluePrint’s Polyline Tool.
BluePrint’s Fill Area Tool can be located on the Drafting Toolbar. This tool will fill the area created by the Polyline tool as long as the shape is a closed polygon. You can create more complex shapes and use the Fill Area Tool to fill those shapes. When you use BluePrint’s Fill Area Tool, the shape you create and the fill that is created inside that shape are TWO DIFFERENT drawing elements. If you want to move or copy the shape and fill, you need to AREA SELECT both the shape and fill. If you select the shape outline alone you will move or copy it without the fill. A fill that has no shape to frame it will attempt to fill open space on your sheet and will not display as you intended.
