Occasionally, we see a PADS design file that has split/mixed planes set as polygon outlines with no flooding. The following steps in PADS will create a correct ASCII for the pour to be displayed in BluePrint.
- Open the design file in PADS Layout.
- Select Tools – Options and then select the Split/Mixed Plane tab.
- Under “Save to PCB File” select the All Plane Data radio button.
- Select OK to close the dialog.
- Select Tools – Pour Manager
- In the Pour Manager:
- Select the Flood tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
- Select the Hatch tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
- Select the Plane Connect tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
- Close
- File Export the New ASCII file.
- Open BluePrint and import the new ASCII file.
