Why are my split/mixed planes in my PADS design not displayed in BluePrint?

Occasionally, we see a PADS design file that has split/mixed planes set as polygon outlines with no flooding. The following steps in PADS will create a correct ASCII for the pour to be displayed in BluePrint.

1. Open the design file in PADS Layout.
   1. Select Tools – Options and then select the Split/Mixed Plane tab.
   2. Under “Save to PCB File” select the All Plane Data radio button.
   3. Select OK to close the dialog.
   4. Select Tools – Pour Manager
   5. In the Pour Manager:
      1. Select the Flood tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
      2. Select the Hatch tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
      3. Select the Plane Connect tab, select the Flood All radio button, select the Start button.
      4. Close
   6. File Export the New ASCII file.
2. Open BluePrint and import the new ASCII file.
