DownStream Technologies Announces First Half Revenue Up 10% Over Same Period Last Year

Company Attributes Many Factors for Growth

Bolton, Mass – September 1, 2003 – DownStream Technologies, LLC today announced that revenues for the period ending June 30, 2003 were up 10% over the same period last year. The company cited many factors for the growth including an ability to transition customers after the CAM350 product was purchased from Innoveda, Inc. (now Mentor Graphics) and an increased market adoption of the product as the de-facto standard as more companies consider Design for Fabrication (DFF) a mission-critical phase of their new product development process. Higher services revenue also contributed to the growth as customers reacted positively to DownStream¹s introduction of a new Training and Educational Services Program. In addition, the company credited the retention of the original CAM350 Value Added Reseller (VAR) channel, an on-going effort to increase worldwide market reach through the addition of new VARs and a strong focus on product quality as also having significant positive impact on its¹ financial performance.

"When we purchased the source code for the CAM350 product line from Innoveda, we knew we had an uphill battle. Our goal was to rebuild the product, reconnect with the customer base and reestablish the leadership of CAM350 in the mainstream marketplace. The release of the first half 2003 revenue numbers prove we have done just that, and more" said Rick Almeida, President of DownStream Technologies.

"In June, we announced the shipment of CAM350 Release 8.0. This release, as well as the product¹s future roadmap, have been enthusiastically received by the over 3600 installed users under maintenance contracts," said Almeida. "These efforts, in combination with our competitive pricing structure and an on-going commitment to customer communications, has translated into the increased revenue numbers we se today," he added.
