Protects key technology used to automate the PCB documentation process
Marlborough, Mass – February 16, 2009 – DownStream Technologies, LLC has announced that the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office has granted the company a patent for some of the technology contained within their revolutionary product BluePrint-PCB®.
BluePrint-PCB was first released in 2006 and has quickly become the industry standard for automating the creation of comprehensive
electronic PCB Documentation as well as being an important piece of the complete PCB Release Package. The patent covers a number of
key items including:
- How BluePrint-PCB automates PCB documentation in an electronic “Release Package” file;
- The core technology contained in the BluePrint-PCB shape engine that is configured to display simultaneous views of the PCB CAD database;
- The use of reconfigurable objects that display different views of the PCB CAD database;
- The technology behind BluePrint’s template elements that can be customized and linked to the PCB CAD database;
- The Engineering Change Order (ECO) technology to automate changes in the PCB CAD database are reflected in the release package.
