DownStream Technologies Announces New Director of Research and Development

Industry Veteran to Lead DownStream R&D Efforts

Bolton, Mass – July 24, 2002 – DownStream Technologies, LLC, a leading supplier of innovative software and services for the CAM marketplace, today announced it has appointed William Newhard as Director of Research and Development. Newhard’s responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of DownStream’s worldwide engineering and development activities, development of strategic plans for its next generation of products and participation with the company’s executive team on the development of future corporate plans and strategies.

Prior to DownStream Technologies’ acquisition of the CAM350™ product line from Innoveda, Inc., Newhard served as Senior Engineering Manager at Innoveda, where he was responsible for overseeing the development of major functional releases of CAM350™. Before Innoveda, Newhard served in the same capacity for PADS Software, Inc. and P-CAD Software, Inc. He brings more than 22 years of engineering and management experience to DownStream Technologies. Newhard holds a BA from Bowdoin College and a MS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
