Comprehensive Analysis Functionality
Design For Fabrication - DFF performs over 80 essential bare-board analysis checks,
including fabrication, silk screen, power and ground, signal layers, drill, soldermask, and many more.
Locate, identify and instantly amend all violations before submitting
your design for fabrication. DFF automatically checks for acid traps, soldermask slivers, copper slivers, starved thermals, soldermask coverage,
and more. Making sure the Soldermask data is generated using proper clearances, ensuring that there are no potential
Solder Bridge conditions, and fixing potential Acid Traps will eliminate bottlenecks in the CAM department of any fabrication shop.
Crossprobing - When using DFF with Crossprobing you are
given the ability to ensure your CAD database is kept up to date and accurate as
well. CAM350XL can locate design
errors (with DRC, DFF, and Streams) and quickly pinpoint the
exact location of those errors in your CAD software. This feature helps you
maintain the original CAD database, ensuring it is always an accurate, current
source of information.
With Crossprobing, CAM350XL can also be used to view intelligent
data in the CAD software (components, pins, nets) while at the same time,
viewing the corresponding locations as Gerber data in CAM350XL.
Streams Rule Checking - Streams Rule Checking is designed to streamline the setup, execution, and verification of
Design Analysis in CAM350. Run Design Rule (DRC), Design for Manufacturing (DFF, DFM) and Netlist Comparison together in one checklist using StreamsRC.
Create, save, and recall multiple "Streams" based on design technology, and/or manufacturing capabilities. Run differing analysis
on High Technology areas such as BGA or Wire Bond, and run standard analysis on the rest of the design, all from one "Stream".
You can define as many analysis areas as desired. Errors can be
quickly verified by charting the results. You are no longer required to view
each individual error. Charting of results allow you to quickly determine what,
if any, changes need to be made to the design database.
PCB Documentation Functionality
BluePrint Foundations
BluePrint Foundations (found in every CAM350XL) is
base solution to get you started with creating electronic PCB documentation. BluePrint Foundations™
grants you the functionality necessary to start automating your
PCB documentation process to quickly create electronic PCB
fabrication and assembly instructions. The solution is
modular and can be incrementally upgraded at any time to meet
your evolving needs.
In Foundations you will receive Fabrication Tool Pallet, Assembly Tool Pallet, Insert Object,
and Web Publisher, plus your choice of one CAD Layout import
option (PADS, Allegro, BoardStation, Expedition, Zuken,
OrCAD, or Altium Designer).
Data Importation
BluePrint uses PCB CAD data to drive the documentation process. Components, pins, assembly mounting sides,
layers, vias, nets, assembly variants, part attributes, drill holes and symbols, are just a few of the data records that can
be imported into BluePrint to accurately create PCB document elements.
Digital content such as JPEGs, BMPs, GIF, etc
may be imported and used in the drawing. BluePrint also allows
the importation and use of audio and video files to be imported
and stored with the documentation package. The multi-media files
may be linked within the documentation drawings.
Data from other Windows® applications can be imported and used in the BluePrint documentation package.
BluePrint imports PDF, RS274X, DXF, XML, ODB++, JPEG, GIF, TIF, BMP. BluePrint’s clipboard function also allows cutting
and pasting with other applications including text and raster graphics.
All elements are added by dragging and dropping. All drawing elements: PCB Views, Charts, details, text boxes, note blocks, etc; are treated as elements
on the drawing and can be quickly added and modified. Each element may be scaled, formatted,
transformed (Rotated, mirrored, flipped, etc) independently of each other. There is no limit on the number
of elements that can be placed on a drawing.
Fabrication Tool Pallet
Consists of basic fabrication drawing elements and tools.
Support for PCB Views, include board outline, drill pattern,
drill chart - support for detail wizards include: layer
stack-up; finger chamfer, minimum trace width, V-score.
Assembly Tool Pallet
Consists of basic assembly drawing elements and
tools. Support for PCB views include: top/bottom side, parts
list manager, integral parts list and component coordinate
chart.
The Release Package Manager
The Release Package
found in CAM350XL allows you to work from one single electronic file
to store and distribute all the deliverables for manufacturing.
For example, this one file can contain your documentation files,
Gerber, NC Drill/Mill, Panel Arrays, ODB++, PDF, DXF, PCB CAD, MS Office and virtually any
file located on your computer and/or network. The Release Package Navigator also supports the importation of Gerber,
and Drill and Mill data from other CAM systems.
Using the Release Package you can store, distribute, and view all the necessary data
required to fabricate and assemble a PCB anywhere, anytime. Manufacturers simply
receive your release package, download the free
BluePrint viewer, and extract the necessary information they
need to build your boards.
Pack and Release
With "Pack and Release" you get a self-contained viewer bundled
into every Release Package you send out. This allows the
recipients of your release package to view contents without having
to download our free viewing software. Pack and Release is just another way to make
viewing your release package easy and convenient.
Web Publisher
Allows for the creation of PCB release packages
in HTML format.
DownStream supports three unique viewer
capabilities designed to ease the sharing of your PCB release
package. The BluePrint Viewer is a free stand alone application
that can be downloaded from DownStream’s website. The HTML Viewer
allows documentation packages to be exported into HTML and viewed
using an Active X component found in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
And lastly, the Pack and Release option bundles the viewer within
your electronic Release Package. Distributing your PCB
Documentation has never been easier.
