BluePrint-PCB Technical Questions and Answers

What platforms will it support?

BluePrint runs on Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems only.

What are the system requirements for BluePrint?

  • A PC with the Windows XP or Windows 2000 operating system
  • At least 1GB of memory (or 2GB’s if importing CAD design files greater then 20MB’s in size)
  • At least 200 MBs of disk space available
  • Allegro ODB++
  • Altium Designer ODB++
  • Boardstation ODB++
  • CadStar ODB++
  • Expedition ODB++
  • OrCAD ODB++
  • PADS ASCII design databases

What are the BluePrint hardware requirements?

Processor 1GHZ or faster, Disk Space 200MB available, Memory 1GB RAM (when importing CAD files under 20MB’s in size) or 2GB’s RAM (when importing CAD files over 20MB’s in size)

How will BluePrint be licensed?

BluePrint will use FlexLM for it’s licensing. No key will be required. All licenses are floating by default. There is no pricing penalty for floating licenses. BluePrint will support both LAN and WAN usage. “License Borrowing will also be supported in cases where users may wish to “check” out a licenses to use remotely.

BluePrint will also support “keyless” node locked license tied to the computers Ethernet card. License borrowing is not supported in node locked configurations.

What formats can be imported?

PADS ASCII (PADS 2004 or greater), ODB++ V6.4, DXF (AutoCAD 2005 or greater), Gerber RS274X, XML, PDF, WAV, AVI, TIF, JPEG, BMP, GIF. (see CAD Layout Software list above)

What formats can be exported?

DXF (AutoCAD 2005), PDF, XML, HTML (Internet Explorer 5.0)
