A revolutionary new document authoring tool that automates the PCB documentation process. It is also a
state-of-the-art process for sharing and viewing documentation. BluePrint-PCB serves as a central repository
for archiving and building anywhere anytime.

How it Works
BluePrint-PCB “knows” it is creating a PCB document and imports the entire PCB CAD database once to automatically
create and link unlimited PCB views and details, while at the same time maintaining the design intelligence and
overcoming the constraints imposed by both PCB and mechanical CAD alternatives. The result is an electronic
document which better articulates the instructions for successful PCB manufacturing.
- Automatically create PCB views, details, and tables from PCB CAD data
- Remove constraints of PCB CAD but retain design intelligence
- Use PCB intelligence to create common drawing elements
- Create live and interactive documentation with hyperlinks and multi-media
- Store all information associated with the PCB assembly in one electronic "release package"
- Support instantaneous engineering changes (ECOs)
- Allow viewing of documents without the application - web, PDF, or viewer
Task Oriented GUI
BluePrint’s user interface is modeled after other standard MS Office products such as Word,
PowerPoint, Visio, and FrontPage providing the user with a common look and feel to other tools used in the
engineering documentation process. BluePrint supports common UI functions such as the context sensitive
Task Pane and Right Mouse Button (RMB) commands, docking tool bars and windows, and full UI customization.
BluePrint’s skin technology allows DownStream to keep the user face current with new implementations of
Microsoft user interfaces as they are released. User
Benefit: Keeps BluePrint current with new versions of
MS Office and Windows.
Bringing PCB Documentation into the 21st Century
BluePrint is truly an innovative new product, more closely aligned with Microsoft Office than
traditional EDA tools. It uses a myriad of methodologies not usually associated
with PCB documentation to increase productivity and
ease-of-use, the result:
- Easier and Faster Documentation Creation
- Improved Documentation Navigation
- Superior File Sharing Technology
- Complete, Thorough, and Accurate Documentation
State-of-the-Art MS Office technology applied to PCB documentation
BluePrint uses a document and sheet based approach allowing
users to drag and drop PCB views, details, notes, and tables, onto a drawing sheet, then arrange and
format them as needed.
With BluePrint, users can create an electronic PCB release package that is more
complete than what is being created today. BluePrint also supports the integration of digital multi-media
content such as JPEGs, audio files, and even video to better communicate the often complex instructions
needed to fabricate and assemble a PCB.
- Document/Sheet Based
- Word Processing and Spell Checking
- Drag/Drop and Format Document Elements - PCB Views, Details, Tables, Notes
- Export HTML for Internet Viewing and File Sharing
- Hyperlink Technology Throughout
- Integrated Digital content - Digial Images, Audio, Video
In addition, BluePrint’s hyper-linking capability allows the creation of links between different
document elements, external files, URLs and email addresses. With BluePrint, all the data is logically,
simply displayed - PCB documentation is live, interactive, and much more informative.
