Mechanical Component Support
BluePrint is the only EDA tool on the market that understands that PCBs are comprised of both electrical
AND mechanical components. Users may define any drawing item as a mechanical component and store it in a “Gallery” for re-use.
Mechanical components can also be associated to electrical components to help automate correct parts list quantity calculations
particularly when Assembly Variants are also used. BluePrint can construct a Mechanical Component a number of different ways:
Manually using BluePrint’s drafting tools, importing DXF objects from a mechanical system, or importing any digital image file
(JPEG, BMP, etc) that the user wishes to depict as a mechanical component..
User Benefit: Correctly shows how mechanical and
electrical components are related. Reduces error by automatically linking to parts lists and variant lists
